How to Get Notifications When Someone Follows a New Account

Instagram does not normally notify you when another person follows a new account. To receive future alerts, a tracker must record the account's current Following list, compare later checks, and notify you when a new username appears.

Why doesn't Instagram send these notifications?

Instagram notifies users about activity involving their own account, such as new followers, messages, and interactions. It does not provide a standard alert feed for every account another person chooses to follow.

Can manual checking work?

You can open a public profile and inspect the Following list, but the order is not reliably chronological. A count can also stay the same when one follow and one unfollow happen between checks. Manual checking therefore misses changes and encourages incorrect assumptions.

How do follow alerts work?
